Please share my letter with others.

I hope that this letter will be forwarded to others.  Margie and I are absolutely overwhelmed by all the support across the state and even some out of state I’ve received for seeking the nomination of candidacy for governor.  Dear people we thank you all. Thursday I completed the filing process in Indy.  Tuesday we will be back in Indy and I should have the opportunity to stand before the nominating committee and make a three minute presentation. I know that the ot...

DEFCON

Before I get into the DEFCON (defense condition) of my remarks, Margie and I want to thank all of you who sent cards and emails and also those who were able to attend Margie’s mother’s funeral. It meant a great deal to us, thank you. Though the term “DEFCON” refers to our nation’s alert readiness, maybe it might apply in concept to the status of our country’s moral fragile razor thin line of extinction. I bring this point up due to the recent flow of letters, mostly form letters, bu...

Indiana passing on gun manufacturers

Two weeks ago, the National Rifle Association held its national convention in Indianapolis bringing more than 70,000 participants and firearm-related exhibitors to our state capital.While Gov. Mike Pence spoke at the convention, along with Sarah Palin and other pro-gun activists and commentators, the state of Indiana — and more specifically the Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC) — seems to have missed a splendid opportunity to potentially recruit firearms manufacture...

Crime Free

There were some interesting observations at the NRA Convention in Indianapolis during the 4 days it was in town.  There were no reports of any of the 70,000 plus visitors and NRA members committing any drive by shootings, car jackings, armed robberies, assaults, setting fire to police cars, rapes, drug dealing or any other violent crimes.  It makes one wonder if there is any truth to the old adage that an armed society is a polite society. There is no doubt that many of thos...

Indiana lifetime handgun license repeal?

Indiana lifetime handgun license, preemption, (you remember, the one from 2001 that prohibits local government from restricting where you can have your gun), guns on school parking lots, buying guns beyond contiguous states, being allowed to have loaded guns on off road vehicles, Castle Doctrine, can all these pro gun laws in Indiana be repealed?  You betcha, buckaroos.  And I’ll tell you how it will happen.    There is this fellow named Willie Won’t and he e...

Scheduled hearing

Just a quick note that SB 229, which is the bill to prohibit taxpayer funded gun buyback programs and provides that guns that come into possession of public subdivisions, including law enforcement agencies are to be sold to qualifed citizens and FFL dealers, is scheduled for a hearing Wednesday, January, 22 at 9 AM Eastern Time in the Judiciary committee in room 130.  http://iga.in.gov/documents/85381d73 I might mention if anyone would like to sponsor this newsletter, such as the ...
